Help Protect Your Community Against Infectious Diseases
The Public Health Foundation (PHF) is pleased to support National Immunization Awareness Month in August by offering immunization resourcestraining, and tools to help your community improve immunization rates and prevent infectious diseases.
Parent's Guide to Childhood Immunization

Vaccinations can help protect populations from serious diseases.

The Parent's Guide to Childhood Immunization helps you educate parents and caregivers about the role vaccines play in helping keep children healthy. The 5-part color booklet provides a glossary of important terms and a list of related resources.
What You Need to Know about Vaccines Information Pads

The five vaccination information pads list recommended vaccines for the following conditions: AsthmaDiabetesHeart DiseasePregnancy, and Stroke.
These easy-to-tear sheets are great for use in pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and doctors' offices.
Hepatitis: Know the Difference Between
 A, B, and C Brochure

Hepatitis B and C can become chronic, life-long infections which can lead to liver cancer. Millions of Americans are living with chronic viral hepatitis, and many do not know they are infected.
Use Hepatitis: Know the Difference Between A, B and C Brochure to explain the diverse aspects of hepatitis including: chronic hepatitis; risk factors; contracting hepatitis; vaccinations; and prevention.
Immunization Strategies: Using the Evidence and What Works to Improve Practice, a free on-demand training program, will increase your knowledge of evidence-based immunization strategies.

After viewing the program, you will be able to:

  • Describe how a local health department uses the Community Preventive Services Task Force's (Task Force) Findings in The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) to save resources and improve health outcomes.
  • Describe the challenges to improving immunization rates in a community setting.
  • Identify three evidence-based strategies to increase immunizations.
  • Describe how quality improvement techniques apply to community immunization practices.
