I am writing to you today as editor of the Encyclopedia of School Health. We are in the final stages of editing the publication to which many of your colleagues have contributed. Unfortunately, one of our colleagues who was contracted to write the Nurse Practitioner in Schools entry broke her contract. I am writing today in the 11th hour to determine if anyone from the School Based Health Services section would be interested in taking on this very important piece. Writing an encyclopedic entry is different than a journal publication as references are solely used for additional reading suggestions. Having done this type of writing before, it generally takes about four to six hours to complete an entry. If you or any of your colleagues would be interested, please have them email me. Since we are running on a tight deadline. I would need this entry by Monday February 4th (this could be negotiated a bit). Thank you for your consideration as well as your prompt response.
The Encyclopedia of School health is a Sage publication. It will be available initially in print. There will be a cost for the final version which will be determined by the final page count. The author would be identified as the author and expert for this entry. Sage renumerates authors with money towards Sage publications beginning at $200 for smaller entries and increasing from there. Yes, I have contributed as co-editor to this encyclopedia as well as to the Encyclopedia of Family Health. We have had other NAPNAP members besides myself contribute. With over 300 expert authors, it would take some research on my end to list them all. Please do let me know as soon as possible if someone is indeed interested. We are running up to our deadline. Thank you in advance for your response.
